Itinerary to the discovery of the theatres in ancient Rome, visiting the three major theatres that made the tradition of Latin comedy famous in the first-century b.C.
Starting from the Teatro Marcello, we will admire the remains of the original entry and the surviving arches, crossing then the “Obscure Shops” of the ancient Teatro Balbo. Through the area of Largo Argentina and the Fora, which were the site of the assassination of Julius Caesar, we will walk through the narrow streets of Campo de’ Fiori square, ending in the ancient auditorium of the Teatro Pompeo, the first permanent theatre in Rome, built in 55 b.C., where we will consume a typical Roman dinner inside its caves and ancient foundations.
Meeting Point: In front of the Teatro Marcello
Taxis will be departing from the Conference Venue at 05:30 to take participants to the meeting point.
